I believe the battery box is 3 kg, but I don't remember for sure, and I don't know the battery diameters. it's quite small though, think 1/4 of a standard shoebox size.mr_chompershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10873634675609716382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4953284345642259040.post-84586612334597173372009-12-03T18:32:19.256-08:002009-12-03T18:32:19.256-08:00You have made my hazy ideas about this excellent p...You have made my hazy ideas about this excellent piece of useful equipment. How sad, Elinchrom doesn't even tell people that how useful this flash is. You have opened your eyes. Recently, I have become fan of `flash photography' , such great creative tool.I was about to order Canon 580, as my older one has started showing signs of wearing out. Now, I will buy Ranger, instead of Canon 580. Please tell Elinchrom that you made a sale of Ranger. Please make a bit more elaborate about Ranger, I think you have left out the total weight of the battery and the size. What are the hassels in carrying it around.

Please get in touch, if you wish, via wildhiss(a)gmail.com It will be nice to dicuss it further. You have done a great fav to photographer like me and Elinchirom as well, by writting this Blog.

Best Wishes.

CAPT SURESH SHARMA
INDIACapt Suresh Sharmahttp://captsuresh.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4953284345642259040.post-1238053426206656702009-11-24T00:10:02.298-08:002009-11-24T00:10:02.298-08:00That's odd Will, it is enabled and I know seve...That's odd Will, it is enabled and I know several people with it on their RSS feed. I still get a bit of dark frame at this, and shoot one speed slower. 1/200 on the 40d, and 1/180 on the 5D. It is not possible to go above this speed.

Keep in mind that the flash is on and off in 1/1,000 or faster, so the shutter is not what will freeze the action, the flash is. You can shoot at 1 full second, and as long as the ambient light is low, and the flash is providing the majority of the light, it will still freeze the action.
